Alexander Comb marriages
« on: Monday 21 July 08 15:08 BST (UK) »

Yes I am stuck AGAIN   This time I am stuck on the marriage of Alexander Comb b.1632, I know he married Agnes born c.1632 in Dunbar ( I think) , they bore a child called Alexander Comb born 1656.
The trouble that I have is I have 12 Alexander Comb' in my tree! I am stuck on two, but this is the easier of the two to figure out.

The other one that I am stuck on it Alexander Comb b1612 (which happens to be the father of alexander Comb b1632) I do not know who he married.  I have alexander comb (b 1612) parents they are again Alexander Comb b 1592 and Manie Robesoun b.1591. Lots of confusion! I have got the list of marriages for alexander comb' off Scotlandpeople in East Lothian from 1553-1854 and I have this list, but none of them are appropriate, It seems to miss a few generations, in between 1612 - 1709!

Congratulations if you have understood this thread, (now if only I could maybe I could complete this side of the tree  )
Any help with the marriages of these two would be great appreciated.

Gadget,
Apologies I do not think I read the reply properly, I listed in after reading that I was in the wrong county (think I'm having one of those days)

Sorry again

I'll quote it so that you can then ask a Mod to delete the other thread:

Quote
North Berwick birth records start 1605 but there is a gap in the records 1616-1653; marriages start in 1604 with just one break -

and Dunbar births start 1672 with breaks; marriages 1651, with breaks.

I think it might be worth you checking out the Kirk Sesion records in Edinburgh.

Added - have you seen this thread - there might be a connection:

The early records might not be very complete and the breaks in the records conincide, in part, with your missing info.

If only some of my areas had OPRs going back that far!

Have you checked wills?

Regards
