Hi -
Wondering if any of you have any insight or information into a Margaret Younie of Knockando, born in 1777, who married John Proctor of Boharm (I think).  If you do, or are interested I can give you branch info for their children and so on.

and in Scotland we don't use the word 'Scotch' as a noun and seldom as an adjective. That means that while we might talk about 'Scotch whisky' or a 'Scotch egg' or 'Scotch mist' we never say 'Scotch' on its own when we mean whisky. It is always taken for granted that if you order a dram or a whisky that you mean Scotch whisky. If you want any other sort you would probably specify the brand, though as I've never committed such a heinous sin I wouldn't really know Smiley

three pubs in three different cities (Edinburgh, Inverness and Stirling) simple question, "What's the best whisky I can buy?"  One, only one answer at each pub, "MacAllan."

speaking of which ... there's a lovely 15 year old waiting for me in my kitchen

I have one Elizabeth(Betsy) Riach(born abt 1790 in Inveravon - 1879), married to James Stewart (born abt 1781 - 1869).  Elizabeth's parents are James and Margaret, sorry no more information.  Any further back for this line would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
