Hi - would someone be so kind to look up Duncan FERGUSON c1834 born Kincardine, his wife Mary 1838 Glasgow Lanark and son John 1860 Thornhill. Occupation - shoemaker. Have them at Kincardine 1861 and 1891..but cannot find 1871 and 1881 All help appreciated..thanks patvp
Just had a good look through the 1881 census cd for Scotland only - can't seem to find the couple or son by himself. Perhaps someone with more experience will be able to help. Regards, Steve :O)

There is a family on FSO 1881 census Duncan, Mary and John, ages 46, 43 and 21. Dwelling, Mount Pleasant Census Place, Llanferres, Denbigh, Wales Occupation for Duncan - Land Steward (Farm Bailiff) Occupation for John - Game Keeper
All born in Scotland, could this be them?

Well Marg am absolutely STAGGERED with that bit of news, needed a glass of wine to get over it.LOL Talk about connections. Duncan's sister Jane married Robert Stewart (they were my g/g/grandparents) their daughter Jane Stewart married James McKay (my g/grandparents) and in 1881 guess where they were...Rhos Farm Llanferres ..Denbighshire Wales. and I have a photo of present day Llaferres on my wall.
