General Inquiry

Is it possible to locate a list of families living in a specific street in the 1940's in Hutchesontown.

I have just discovered that one of my mothers aunts lived in the same street as her but I don't know which one.

I am just curious to find out who it might have been.

I have a copy of the 1943/44 Glasgow directory which has some limited information regarding the residents of particular streets. I can check if you wish

Thanks very much. My mother lived in 234 Lawnmoore street.

Her maiden name was May. Her mothers maidenname was White.

I think the relatives surname would have been either White or Mitchell.

Sorry no trace, but the information in these directories is far from complete and in this instance there are only 41 seperate entries for Lawmoor Street and there is nothing between 212 and 244.

Its Lawmoor St and if you can manage to get into The Mitchell Library in Glasgow they have extensive Voters Rolls to view I should know i found my Grandparents there and they lived in Naburn St and Lawmoor St

The only Grocers mentioned is Galbraiths Stores at 164

Thanks for correcting me, sorry about the mis-spelling.

Unfortunately I live in Warrington so it is very difficult for me to get up to Glasgow, much as I would like to.

It's possible that my mother worked in Galbraiths store. My dad told me she worked in a grocers not far from her home.
