Thomas John SCRIVENS 1845-completed
« on: Saturday 26 July 08 15:31 BST (UK) »

Thomas John Scrivens 1845 - 1919 - Malvern, Worcs

I have him married to Mary Ann Watkins 1859, Harriett Taylor 1891, and
Emily Hanford 1901.

I have just found a mysterious note in my files, not mine by the way, saying he was
married to [b]Beatrice Lilian [b] (wife number 2) in 1890/91 she died in 1899.
This tree shows Alexander, Ernest, Richard, Albert, and Eva as their
children not Harriets.

Can you help me out please?

N.B. always note your sources, I didnt now I wish I had.

Maybe of interest?

I have found a descendant of John Merrell the farmer from Upton, who lost his sheep
when Joseph Watkins my Gt Gt Grandad, went and  stole them in 1851. I have offered to pay back the £1 to cover his loss. LOL

Gt Gt Grandad Joe was transport for 7 yrs to Australia where he carried on with his bigamy, theft and bushranging!

Hi Mike,

Just to make sure who we are talking about: Is this your Thomas in 1881?
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=23516236

Still married to Mary Ann in 1891, no children with the names you mention though  Huh

Hi there,
We are currently researching our family tree.  The Thomas Scrivens B1845 D1919 is my GT GT GT grandfather.
My Granmother (Betty Scrivens married to Alfred Scrivens M.1946 born in NZ) started a family tree before she died.  In her notes, Thomas married Elizabeth Stoddard in Nov 1864 (d1865) they had one daughter Eliza Jane B 1864.  This was his first wife.  Then MaryAnne Watkins in 1869??. They had 15 children ( I have names).  Then he married Harriet Taylor in 1891. I have their childrens names as  Eva B 1892, Albert b.1894, Alexander b.1896 and Ernest b.1898. You mention not all of the children were his??
We have no mention of Beatrice Lilian.  We have quite a bit of information on bits of paper in no particular order - I hope these details are all correct.

Yes, what a co-incidence, if I had stopped to read and not presumed I would have seen your branch is quite different to the other Mel.
