  Huh I need a fresh brain!

I have a John Aldridge who claimed to be born in WESTON UNDERWOOD in Buckinghamshire around 1810. He certainly married there in Oct 1830. His wife was Catharine Parkins who also claimed to be born there. I cannot find a baptism for either in  parish register, although two of their children at least were baptised in NORTH CRAWLEY in Buckinghamshire, so I don't think they were non -conformists.

As Weston is near the county border with Northamptonshire I wondered if perhaps he was born in Northamptonshire.

Have 1 or 2 reasons to suspect/ hope  parents of John may have been George and Kitty Aldridge. George was from Weston, Kitty was born outside of Buckinghamshire. Have been unable to trace their marriage. Both were born around 1785 according to 1841 census.

Any suggestions as to where to look next please Smiley

Wow have found  this 1851 census entry.

Gorge and Catherine Aldoirdge She was born in PIDDLETON (?) Northamptonshire.

The Northamptonshire Marriage Index CD has

George ALDRIDGE of Weston Underwood and Catharine HAKES of this parish married 1st Aug 1808 at Horton

Kitty HAKES was baptised at Piddington with Hackleton, daughter of Thos and Eliz. 9th april 1786

That sounds brilliant.

I have know found that her birthplace was  Piddington  in the hundred of Wymersley.

A child was christened in 1811 in Weston. John was born 1810 possibily 1809 so perhaps he was born in Horton. 
I am pretty sure John's eldest child was at the home of George and Catherine in 1841.

Witnesses: Joseph Clarke and John Smith

No was no baptism for any children in Horton.

I did find a baptism for John Alrdidge in Piddington.

John son of William & Ann Alridge March 26 1809.

No other children baptised in village though.
