christian names advice on IGI

Hi all
just thought I would pas this info on I do a lot of look ups in the BVRI and if I get a name like
John George brown If I don't fined him under John I then look under George and what a lot of mistakes on the IGI as in a lot of cases the names have been transposed any one that knows the BVRI its a list of Christenings and the IGI actual births just thought i would mension it as a thought to brick walls another thought my husband was registered Edaward Micheal against his mothers wishes and she had him Christend Micheal

Hi Audrey

The IGI is baptisms too.  The only births are those that have also been entered in the parish register at the time of baptism or those that have been submitted by a private individual.  By far the majority of entries are baptisms.
