Hi Eddie,

Do you know the exact date of his death or is that what you're asking for?  Do you know how old he was?

You may need to find the death date first, before anyone can look up any newspaper articles etc

I've checked the GRO index 1959-1961 inc - death reg not found

Kind regards,

Eddie,

I noticed your Blyth location. !

Blyth Library (first floor little neuk) has film of the Blyth News newspapers available for browsing, with comprehensive Births/Deaths/Marriages columns and headlines.

There is also a card index system of events, topics etc in a nearby cabinet. You might be lucky !

And you will find library staff, Mark, Ann, Maureen et al, helpful

Eddie if you still check the boards. I think I have a photocopy of John R's death certificate stored on disc somewhere (just have to hunt it out) I'm fairly positive his death was January 1956 & cause of death was brain injury caused by being run over by a motor car.

Sorry just realised when I looked again at the database I had saved that Violets maiden name was Germaine, it's was Violets mother who's maiden name was Stamper.

I also lived beside you when you lived in Greendale (think it was called that anyway) & went to school with your sister Jaqueline. I lived in Patterdale & my older sister Joyce, married Violet & John's son Chris.
