Hi Hazel
IGI at www.familysearch.org is a good (free!) source of information for this period you are looking at. Jessie's parents' marriage shows there:
JAMES ROBERTSON and MARY MUNDIE Marriage: 01 AUG 1857 Saint Fergus, Banff, Scotland
Member submitted details for James Robertson, also on IGI:
James Robertson Birth: 1832, Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland Parents: Robert Robertson and Janet Lawson Marriages:Mary Mundie 01 AUG 1857 Saint Fergus, Aberdeen
Mary's details also show as a submitted entry:
Birth: 1836, Saint Fergus, Aberdeen, Scotland Parents: George Mundie and Jean Cheyne
FreeCen is very good for the early censuses (1841/51) in these areas. Just make sure you click on the right years at the top.

From a parent search on IGI, these are the children showing to James and Mary, including Jessie's birth:
1. JAMES ROBERTSON Birth: 05 OCT 1857 Saint Fergus, Banff 2. ROBERT ROBERTSON Birth: 21 JUL 1859 Longside, Aberdeen 3. JANET ROBERTSON Birth: 25 AUG 1862 Longside, Aberdeen 4. GEORGE ROBERTSONBirth: 03 MAR 1864 Saint Fergus, Banff 5. ANN MUNDIE ROBERTSON - Birth: 12 APR 1866 Saint Fergus, Banff 6. MARGARET JANE ROBERTSON Birth: 02 APR 1868 Saint Fergus, Banff 7. JOHN ALEXANDER ROBERTSON 24 JUL 1871 Saint Fergus, Banff
To do a parent search on Family Search, go to the International Genealogica Index (IGI) screen. Simply put in full father and mother's names on the r/h side and then British Isles/ Scotland. Sometimes when you do this type of search you may see results for more than one couple with the same names, you can then add time filters and/or counties (although be aware that people moved around more and you may miss some births if not in the counties you are expecting).
