Hello Jane. There is another Tewart gravestone at  St Thomas, Stanley, Crook. If you want it just post the request on the Stanley thread.

Hello Roger. Here is the Morson inscription for Crook:-

In loving memory of Ellen, the beloved wife of Farrer Morson, Glenholm, Crook.
Born June/27/1851, died January/24/1905
Also the above Farrer Morson, born March/7/1829, died January/24/1905.

Adam

Hell Adam, I have been browsing the site as I ama 'newbie' and trying to pick up on past info that can help me and I have come across this one and wonder if The Farrerrs Arms pub at Crook is named after him?  I thought it was an Alderman Farrer but maybe they're one and the same?
I have tried to trace records of who lived/owned the pub in the early 1900's but have not had much success as any site that I can access needs a street name and there doesn't seem to be one.
Do you have any idea I would be grateful as I have almost given up on this thread.

Hello Genie. I do not know the answere to your question so I had a look at the gravestone inscriptions that I have.
There is only one Farrar stone and that is for a Rev Wesley Farrar at Lanchester,so I do not think it would have anything to do with him.
I think you would get more responce if you reposted the question using a new subject heading, suggest:-
"Origins of the name "Farrar's Arms, Crook"

Hello Gillian. Sorry, no Whitfield and Smith gravestones for the (Christian names and dates)  that you posted.
There are a number for both Whitfield and Smith but they are not yours.
I think that Anthony may have been buried in the St Catherine's graveyard.
St Catherine's was built in 1841 so it fits the date.
There are only three or four gravestones left and where the others were moved to is any bodies guess.
