Hi, I have been searching for the baptisms of Stephen Jopson, b. approx 1792, and his grandson Alfred Stephen Jopson born May 15 1858, Haverhill, Suffolk with no luck for a number of years!
Stephen Jopson married in Haverhill, his daughter was baptised there (there must be other children, 1 is unusual for the early 19th C!) and he was buried there, but he was not baptised there.
Alfred Stephen Jopson's birth certificate states that he was born on May 15th in Haverhill, but there is no baptism for him there. His mother had 5 children all seemingly illegitimate so his baptism may help!
I am looking at Fordham due to its proximity to Haverhill and there appear to be a few other Jopsons as opposed to Jobsons baptised there post 1801 according to the Cambs FHS!
Please help me find them!!
