Pinetree Cottage, Carnon Downs

In a local history book an account of our ancestor says he had a beer house (kiddlewink)called Pinetree Cottage situated at  the crossroads at Carnon.
I have seen a reference to a resource application to the Carrick Council for an alteration to Pinetree Cottage, Forth Coth, Carnon Downs.
I stress, without hassling the owners, can anyone advise whether it is likely to be the same place? It looks reasonably close to the same area on the map to a NZér.
