Loughrigg was (still is!) a very small hamlet. I suspect "Edinburgh" was the name of the house. With any luck, it will still be on the house.

Edinburgh appears also to be a small hamlet.I have ancestors who lived at Ellerigg and then Edinburgh comes next on the 1881 with about twenty five addresses using that name

Edinboro and Ellerigg rd are a area on the north eastern edge of Ambleside near the Kirkstone Road but why Loughrigg is on the address i dont know because it is on the western side of Ambleside
