I'm not sure to be honest.
All I know for certain is that she was born in 1859 (from family bible).(name in there given as Mary Ann Norcliff Wood) In the 1881 she gives her birthplace as Mayfield, in 1901 as Ashbourne.
There are no details of her parents in the bible.
There's a Mary Ann Wood in the 1861 in Warslow (STS)who may or may not be her, but she gives her birthplace as Warslow.
I was hoping there may be another Mary Ann lurking somewhere of the same age.
Other siblings listed in the bible - George Wood b 28 May 1860, Emma Wood b 17 Sept 1862.

well in 1861 there is one mary Ann Wood with her grandparents, the Beresfords she was born 1859 in Ashbourne and her Brother George 1860 in Ashbourne. Also with them is her Aunt Lucy and her son, In 1871 they are with Lucy but her name is Mary A Beresford and George is still there too.

suz - I wonder if I could trouble you with a couple of details from the info you sent earlier.
Could you possibly tell me what age George Wood gives in the 1861 Census. (RG9 2520 5 3)
For some reason, I can't find him on the IGI 1881 census - yet you say he's listed as lodging in Mapleton .. I've searched all ways and still can't get him to show up.
Please don't trouble to look these up if you're busy doing other stuff.. you've helped me loads already
