TOXTETH PARK Burial Records

Here is a brilliant site for Toxteth park cemetery. This site has free burial records from 1856 to 1894 and i think they are still transcribing them.

Oh MIGKY, 

I have found my gg aunts burial on the Toxteth Cemetery site. She died in 1885 and lived at 21 Arthur Street Toxteth Park. I had found were she died on free bdm but had no idea on what date she died or where she was buried. My g grandfather and mother are buried there also but didn`t die until 1904 and 1911. I have their death dates though. Would love to know if they had a headstone. I doubt it though as I think they were fairly poor.

Hi Johngirl, i am sure if you post a request for some one to try and find your family's headstones, some kind person off this site will be happy to look and possibly take a picture for you?

fantastic site - pity Liverpool Council couldn't have been as helpful - found 17 ancestors / relations so far - pity most appear to have been in mass pauper graves - how sad.

this may sound sad or sick but I just tried using google map (photo images option) to try and see if a gravestone could possibly be still standing.

sent a polite email to Liverpool Council last week asking if they had a "grave search" online or planned to have one - just got the one line reply today:

"Unfortunately we don’t have that service"

and that was that - totally!!!!

so much for Capital of Culture - they had an opportunity and they blew it (in my opinion!) They could have had the "come home scousers" - like Scotland are doing for their "children"

lol

ok rant over - getting "cabin fever" being locked away with this swine flu - so please forgive me!!!

The site was updated on the 8th Aug 2009.
You can now use there search engine to look for family graves.
They now have all the grave maps/plots of the cemetery.
This means you should be able to find any grave without much trouble.
