Not a lot to go on*Completed With Thanks*
« on: Friday 15 August 08 14:43 BST (UK) »

Hi, I have found a wedding photo of an unidentified couple. The only thing I have to go on is written on the back, 29th Aug 1940, m/name Aries. Unfortunately this name is not familiar.
Assuming that the couple were married in UK, the date is the date of marriage, and that m/name refers to maiden name is it possible to do a marriage look up with just this info??
Best Wishes Nic.  Undecided

That marriage was the only Aries marriage in England & Wales in that registration quarter.

Odd that it's a male Aries.  If this is the right marriage, perhaps "m/name" denotes married name rather than maiden name?

Hi, thank you all very very much for that info,  Huh still doesn't ring any bells!!! very odd.
Tati,  If its not too much trouble, would you mind posting the info you found on the other spelling variations please.
Just above the surname, is the name Aire but its been scribbled out, so I wonder if there was some confusion around the spelling. Would be really gratefull.
Thanks again for your replies to my post.

Anna

NB I really hope this is it because there were a *lot* of Smiths to go through! Trust Freda to have married a William... Cheesy
