1901 census request - MACCORMAC

would someone please be so kind as to search the 1901 census for the family of George Victor Maccormac born in the district of rotherham in 1896

family legend has it that georges father was actualy born a Wilson but in them days there was a very popular singer by the surname maccormac and georges father called himself and all of his childeren after this singer.

wheather or not this is true i am not sure

im afraid i dont know , all i do know is that there was john maccormac and his father was john henry maccormac born 1905 and his brother was george born 1896

all i have is there fathers surname was wilson untill he changed it to maccormac

If John Maccormack is your family member andas you say his father was John Henry Maccormack I think then maybe you might have to purchase a certificate or two

It might just help if he has named his father on his marriage cert.

Obvioulsy if you go for the birth you should get both parents names.

Just noticed that there is a death entry for a child named George Victor MacCormack in Rotherham for the year 1897 - just maybe this was the boy you were looking for...


But like I said above it's possibly time to buy a certificate ...
