Red Cross Hospital for Officers, Percival Terrace, Brighton
« on: Friday 15 August 08 16:20 BST (UK) »

Hi, I'm trying to find out if this hospital existed in 1937 and if it was by chance located at 4 Percival Terrace?

I have an ancestor that died in Brighton in 1937, his address was Kensington but his death was recorded by a doctor who gave his address as 4 Percival Terrace, Brighton.  My ancestor was an officer in the army and was gassed and died as a result of emphasemia and bronchial pnuemonia so it would make sense that he was in this hospital if the place existed at the time.

Any information would be most welcome.  Thanks in advance, MyGenes

It did exist there in 1949, if thats any help.

The Brighton Street Directory records that 4 Percival Terrace was ......
Convalescent home for Officers (Order of St John of Jerusalem and British Red Cross Society)
Neil Hugh MacKinnon Commandant, Miss E Collard, Matron
