Click on my link to the Dublin 1911 Census, then enter the surname in that box.  Here's a tip - just enter "Lennox" in the street box, not "Lennox Street."  If you do the latter, you get inundated with all the other "streets," whereas if you just put "Lennox," you only get that one.  A bit of a weakness in the search software, but you can work around it once you know about it.

I've had a quick look for Mary Smith aged 29 b. Dublin. There are not many.
She may of course have married!
Kooky

ps. no Samuel Marys in the census

Thanks Kooky, I too tried to find her and him online. Can you access BMD as you can in England for Ireland, so I can check who Thomas Richard Smith married ? Elvira/Elmira not coming up on search. Handy to know it's Fitzwilliam anyway.
I tried IGI , came up with THOMAS to BRIDGET REDMOND marrying THOMAS 1873, none for ELVIRA ! Most frustrating !!

Even though this christening was suposed to have taken place in Dublin it doesn't mean the parents were married in Ireland (if they were married at all). Where does it say Fitzwilliam for mother's name? have I missed something?

On IGI (familysearch.org) I searched for any children born to thomas and elmira smith.
This is what I found:
William Wesley Patrick Smith born: 17 March 1880 Dublin, Ireland
Parents: Thomas Richard Smith and Elmira Archer Smith.

This is most probably Mary's brother and you can get a marriage for their parents now that you have Elmira's maiden name which is Archer.

Hope that helps! Cheesy

Thanks Luas- thought Fitzwilliam was mother's maiden name when I read the post.
Well done oisinh1!

I just found something else in the 1911 Census:
206a Great Britain Street, Rotunda, Dublin
Thomas R Smith, Inmate, Religion: Salvation Army, Aged 64, Profession Scripture Reader, Widower, Born Dublin City.

This place appears to have been a boarding House for elderly men. Whats interesting is his Profession and Religion which may explain why he wrote the Baptism Certificate. He was a widower so if this is your Thomas Elmira must have died....possibly his children aswell...??

Hope that helps and doesn't throw up more questions!! Grin

I tried parent search when I thought the wife was Eleanor but didn't look for Elvira or Elmira- should have rechecked for them. Well done oisinh1 for that as well as 1911 census.

If you log on to the Irish GRO web site, in Luas' earlier post, you can download an application form.
OR you can write a letter to the GRO [address on web site] explain what you want, enclose a 10 euro note and wait for snail mail!
