Hi,
I am looking for John and Sarah Nipper in 1891. John was born in 1846 in Winscombe and Sarah in 1852 in Winford I think. They had children Frederick b 1873 (Wales poss) Annie b 1878 (Weston Super Mare) and George b 1881 (weston Super Mare).
I know that Sarah at least had moved to Barry S Wales by 1900 with (I think) the children and she remarried a few years later but don't know what happened to John and would like to try to find them in 1891 to piece together a little bit more of their story.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that. It may explain why Sarah moved on her own if John was working away.
I'll look into it further and see what I can find......

Hi Jane,
I haven't got her no - I know that she had moved to Barry, S Wales by 1901 and that John was not with her. I don't know when she moved, so in 1891 she could be in Somerset or Glamorgan.
If you could find her that would be great and would help me to narrow down her move.

Hi Jane,
I'm not sure as I can't seem to find a death for him anywhere. I wonder if she is using the name CLARKE as in 1901 she seems to be called Sarah Clarke although she didn't marry William Clarke until 1907. Maybe she moved with him (or ran away!) and they then lived together as if they were married?
Thanks for looking anyway.

Wow, thank you so much for that. There are more children to add to my tree too! I'd hoped there might be a Mary to link in to a bit of family history my dad had told me about but I hadn't found her until now.
It's a bit of a mystery to me as I know that she married William Clarke in 1907 and that he is marked as single on the marr cert but he was defo married before with at least 4 children and comes from Publow. Now he appears to be in 2 places at once - single in Barry and a widow in Publow! I know that William Clarke is a common name but ........
I don't suppose you have the name of the children for the William in Publow in 1891? My William was born around 1847 and had children William, Emily, Mary Ann and Alice. Bit cheeky I know but it might help to eliminate him....
Thanks again Jane

Hi Jane,
That's definately the William Clarke I have been linking to Sarah. I have their marriage cert and he is aged 60 in 1907. According to the 1901 census he is from Puplow which I have taken to be Publow. I guess (hope?) it is just coincidence that a William Clarke is staying with Sarah in 1891. I may have to backtrack and rethink a little!!
Thanks for all your help - you've given me something to think about now!!
