Thought I recognised Simpson and Croydon!

Member submissions on the IGI show Hosea as being son of John Simpson and Elizabeth Lenton. But is this actually Isaiah who was living with John in Croydon in 1841 and who was baptised on 29 Nov 1821? I've never been able to find their marriage, but John Simpson was apparently my 1st cousin 5 times removed

There's a lot of duff information about John's parents in online trees, which state that his father, also John, was from Cardington Beds. He wasn't!!!

Happy to share what I have about the Simpsons (and the Nashs who are my main interest)

Just remembered a great site which gives potted histories of all the residents of Croydon in 1843,
which would be be considered actionable today!
http://www.croydon-village.com/sg/two.htm

It seems as though Isaiah and Hosea were two separate sons of John

Hi David
Isaiah and Hosea are 2 different sons. Hosea stayed in Croydon.  Isaiah moved to Poplar London.  However I think Hosea must be the one christened as Otione same day as Isaiah 29 Nov 1821.  I have made requests for census records today actually so you can get them from this site.
I have found a lot of incorrect information also but we have evidence that the Simpsons came from Wicken before they went to Croydon.  I have a couple of contacts in England who have done a lot of research into it.
My research started in Australia where I discovered my ancestor Isaiah William Wenham came out with his mother's sister Eunice and her Titmarsh family.
The death records from our Queensland govt are available on the internet now at https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/BirIndexQry.m
These will give you evidence of connection.
1863/C285 Titmarsh  Eunicia   John Simpson   Elizabeth Lenton
1880/C737 Titmarsh  Isaiah   John Titmarsh   Eunice Lenton Simpson
I'll have a look at the site you just mentioned.  Have you looked at Speculum Gregis- very entertaining reading?
Regards, Carmel
