What is it with Carmarthenshire and their records. Unable to purchase Microfiche from Record Office as they do not do them. Parish Chest has limited C.D's (only marriages) and Carmarthen F.H.S. web-site is not accessible. Please can someone tell me where I can purchase B.M.D's for Llanelly. Have just found my Welsh roots and wish to research back. Thanks, Syljun

In fairness, the county of Carmarthenshire covers a huge area and is relatively sparsely populated. The whole pace of life is different down there. They're just not geared up to provide the same sort of services we expect from large cities. It's a great place to live, though.

luas, yes I should imagine it is but after a long time trawling through countless David families who kept changing to Davis, Davies finally finding correct family perhaps you will appreciate my disappointment to find records weren't readily available, not being able to visit Record Office. I do appreciate that volunteers transcribe records. I am an OPC myself. Regards Syljun

The area is quite lovely, one of my favorite parts of the world, particularly Carmarthen Bay, I visit often as chance allows.
UK Genealogy has some records, for this area post 1812, but think better to wait until Carms FHS is back online, you may get more choice in what records are on offer.
Just my thoughts
Good luck with the fiche info syljun
