We have a lot of confusion here - and need more answers

I don't know whether we will ever be able to tell you why he changed his name - only who we was when he was born and who his parents were

Now here comes the rub as they say:

There is no birth on freebmd for an Ernest James Brown in Cambridge between 1881-1901 but funnily enough there is an Ernest SECCOMBE Brown b 1884 in Peterborough

You are going to have to buy a copy of his marriage certificate to get his fathers name and Ernest's age when he married to progress this family any further

Marriages December qtr 1918   

Laura E Desmond    Ernest J Seacombe  Steyning  2b 778

Was Ernest the father of Ronald Desmond Seacombe but born before Ernest married Laura?
