Does anyone have a connection through marriage to the Goss family in Buckinghamshire in the areas especially around Wing, Linslade, Soulbury, Stewkley, Waddesdon and Aylesbury? All dates to the present day.
I've a very large tree (over 1200 people) but still have a few gaps especially dates after 1880.
Do you have a gap in your tree relating to the Goss family and need some information? Perhaps I can help.
Hope to hear from you.

Hi I don't have any connection to the Goss family but on my ancestry cd it has the following marriage entries for Soulbury if they're of any help: Tho. Goss & Anne Gravestock 26 Oct 1676 Rog. Goss & Elizab. Rogers 01 May 1679 . Possible that this is the Roger Goss sworn as a petty constable for Walton in the Easter Sessions of 1698. Walton is only 9 miles from Soulbury
Hen. Goss & Elizab. Meade 06 Feb 1699. Henry in trouble in 1697 ie: Humphrey Pantline and Henry Stevens, farmers, Henry Goss, cordwainer, Thomas Hawkins, Thomas Cartwright, John Snoxall, and William Greene, labourers, and Edward Dimock, yeoman, all of Soulbury, for rioting and overturning the wagons of William Taylor. Indictments confessed and traversed. The convictions of James Hasell, Humphrey Pantline, Henry Stevens, Thomas Hawkins, Henry Goss, Thomas Cartwright, and Edward Edwards, and Thomas Kempe; and the acquittal of William Robinson. And again in the 1705-1712 sessions: John Coney, with John Deverell junior as surety, William Lane, yeoman, with Josias Askew, gentleman, as surety, all of Swanbourn, and Henry Goss, cordwainer, with Thomas Stevens, as surety, both of Soulbury, for interrupting her majesty's commissioners in the execution of "an for the speedy and effectual recruiting etc." (Sess. R. 28/103, 110, and 110a)
Jonathan Buckner, wid., & Anne Goss, wid. 10 Jun 1703 Geo. Broxon, "lactarius," & Arabella Goss 28 May 1704 Wm. Hardwick & Catharine Goss, ban. 01 Oct 1726 Wm. Goss & Mary Paxton, both of S. 31 Jan 1771 Jos. Saving [sig. Savin] & Mary Goss, both of S. 02 Jun 1792 Mathew Goss, of Wing, & Mary Hedges, of S., lic. 08 Sep 1795 Geo. Vale, of Heath Reach in Leighton Buzzard (Beds), b., & Elizab. Goss, of S., lic. 03 Nov 1802
At High Wycombe: Thos. Brown & Eliz. Goss 09 Nov 1714 Edw. Goss & Mary Weeden 21 Sep 1718
At Chesham: John James Goss & Mary Parrat 14 Nov 1797 John Jas. Goss, w., & Rebecca Caison, w. 25 Dec 1819 Wm. Goss & Ann Webb, lic. 21 Aug 1828

At Broughton: Joseph Goss, p. Great Woolstone, & Susannah Holloway 19 Nov 1775
At Little Woolstone: 21 May 1711 Thomas Goss & Anne Thipthap mar. 14 May 1712 Anne d. Thomas & Anne Goss bap. 28 Dec 1713 Elizabeth d. Thomas & Anne Goss bap.

Also some stuff from Quarter Sessions: 10th October 1689, Chepping Wycombe Henry Taylor, Edward Taylor, William Taylor, and Thomas Taylor, all of Soulbery, for rioting and for assaulting Thomas Goss.

I dont have any connection with a Bertie Goss in my ancestor list (I have my Goss family going back to 1522) so can you let me know his parents/grandparents/gt X2 etc so i can check and see if there are any connections. I know that there are three possibly four Goss families in Bucks going back decades and all unrelated. Andy

Thanks for marriage certificate info, I had the cert and it says that Berties father is Henry, when Gertrude Goss is married again, she is a widow in 1917, but I can't find her first husbands death, do you think he died in World War One? This is the only info I have at the moment! Please keep in touch if you think we can help each other out!

Hi Andy
Found this entry in one of my Berks FHS' 'Cutler' searches - perhaps you could do one for Goss? It would cost £12 for a 1500-1900 search for baptisms, marriages or burials in Bucks or £36 for all three. You might have to check some parish coverage but I don't think that'd be a problem seeing as it's all spread out. See this link, if you haven't done so already:
http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/index.php?Itemid=75&id=17&option=com_content&task=blogcategory
This is a boy with surname Cutler but Goss is a bit of a strange middlename? One of the Goss clan might be his father... BAPTISED the 5 day of May 1861 Henry Goss son of Jane CUTLER of Littleworth
Marriage at Bletchley...
3 Oct 1869 William TARBOX, aged 38, Widower of Bletchley, Railway Porter son of Matthew Tarbox, Labourer Ellen Louisa CUTLER, aged 23, Spinster of Bletchley daughter of George Cutler, Gardener Witnesses John Clarke Lyda Goss by Banns
Hope you can find something useful

Matt,
Many mothers maiden names apear as middle names with their children. Most likely that this is the case here. I've exhausted all Bucks FHS records and parish records and there are no more B, M, B records that I can look up, as my line is now completed back to 1522.
