I am looking for information on the Dalley Family who spent a lot of their time living in Ilford and Barking in Essex and working for British gas in all of its guises, the Gas Light and Coke company, North Thames Gas etc. There are links to the gas Board from the 1890's to the 1960's. Can anyone suggest where to start looking. Thanks

Hello Saxon Corner and a warm welcome to Rootschat
The answer to your question rather depends on what you're looking for - and what you've already got. Have you established names of family members, dates and places? Have you traced the family through the censuses?
I'm sure you will find this a very friendly and helpful place to be as you develop your research.
Anna

Thanks for that. Yes there are links to me. Thomas had another son, Arthur Newman Dalley who worked for the gas board for over 40 years from about 1890 and he had two sons, Stanley and Percy who worked there for over 40 years up to the 1960's. i wondered if there was any access to works records.
