1841 Census lookup
« on: Sunday 11 April 04 21:47 UTC (UK) »

If someone has access to the 1841 census could they please look up James Dawson & wife Martha.

James was born Heptonstall Stansfield 29/03/1785 and married Martha at Heptonstall 1805. They had a daughter Alice who married in 1829. I am afraid I have no other information.

Thanks for your help.

 Smiley Hi Dinkey
Thanks for your help with my look up - sorry I don't have an 1841 census of  Yorkshire but have you tried the West Riding of Yorkshire Look up Exchange.

www.faulkes.co.uk/lookup/wry/htm

I have found the people most helpful.
Good luck!

Hi again Janet

I tried the website you suggested but it tells me that this website no longer exists.

If you can suggest anywhere else I may be able to get the information I will be very grateful.

 Smiley Hi Dinkey

Have had my coffee and done my homework, ok try

www.ukgenealogy.co.uk/yks.htm

and www.census-online.com  click on census links then England then Yorkshire these are a bit obscure and I don't know Yorkshire well enough to know which area you are looking for.

There is also www.censusfinder.com but at the moment I cannot remember if I have used this one as it is not in my favourites so either I haven't used it or didn't like it.

Hope some of this helps.
Cheers

Hi Janet B

Thank you for mention of these sites. I have not looked at them yet because I need to know the following;

Do you have to subscribe to them to get the information? The reason I ask is because I am not in a finacial position to start subscribing to a number of sites. I am also very wary of generating more SPAM messages in my email box. I have enough of them already.

If I do have to subscribe to any sites, which are the most cost effective?

How expensive exactly.

Smiley Hi - these sites are free and where the people do lookups like you they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. I do not have much money to spend  on this hobby either so always look for the cheapies.
Good luck
cheers
