Hi Guys, I hope you don't mind but I thought that i would post the names I am researching on my family tree. I have James McDonald, born in Brechin 1841 married to Jessie Chisholm. They lived in MOntrose in Canal Brae. James mother Ann Wilkie, is buried in Rosehill cemetery. Their son Charles c1869 a Seaman, married Mary Helen McAllister in Montrose. They had 2 sons Charles, 1902 - c1986 and James 1898 -1981. I am also researching the Welsh family. They were mainly farmers or Seamen. William Welsh, c1761, married Margaret Forbes, Fetrerresso, Son John Welsh, c1784, married Harriet Lewis, their Son Thomas c1840, married Ann Smith, their son John,1851 married Jessie Reid. Their son Alex 1879, married Susan Allan. I have contact with cousins in Gourdon. Other names that I am researching are Wemyss and Caird, Gibb,(Glenbervie and Aberdeen). If anyone thinks they are related I would like to hear from you.
Kind regards, Lynda

Thanks Mumsie2131, I spent some time today writing out the names on the page I clicked onto, but I do not know how to save them, or if they are automatically put on the bottom. This is the first reply I have made since I did it s I don't know.. If not, how do I do this.
Kind regards, Lynda

Hi Lyndyloo06
I have cairds from Kincardineshire in my tree. I have Isabella Caird daughter of John Caird and Ann Davidson. Isabella married James Pyper in Fetteresso.
I also have Allans from Aberdeenshire in my tree. Mainly from the Rhynie/Lumsden/Chapel of Garioch area.
These are the Cairds that I havae on my tree.... John Caird, 1695 married Margaret Taylor of Kincardineshire Robert Caird, 1703 of Dunnoter married Margaret Wishart, James Caird, 1742 married Ann Harris in Kinnell, James had 2 wives I am led to believe. Charles Caird, 1794 married Jane Watson at Arbuthnott. Their children were Janet/Jessie, 1820. Alex, James and Charles 1826, Andrew 1832 and William 1830.
I am in touch with someone in Australia who has let me see his tree and there may be more information there. He said that I can download his pictures of the Cairds as we have a connection.
Allan Family,
I have William Allan, 1807 - 1855, Steam ship stoker, married to Catherine Carnegie, William 1843,John,1849, Diana, 1847 and Jessie 1852 as their children. William 1843 married Elsie ? and their children were, Catherine 1875, William 1876, George 1874, Margaret 1883, Robert 1880, Alex 1886. Elsie does not appear after the 1881 census, so I presume that she may have died between 1886 and 1891. John Allan 1849 married Helen Wemyss 1854 from Bervie. John was a ships carpenter. He was born in the St Nicolas area of Aberdeen. They as far as I know had one daughter Susan Gill McRobb Allan. My great grandmother. (She is the lady on the left.) John Allan died of typhoid when my gt grandmother was very young.
You can let me know if this information is any use to you.
Kind regards, Lynda

Long time lurker, first time poster!
I'd like to add my interests in the area too!
Looking for any info on my grandparents family from the Aberdeenshire area.
Grandfather - Alexander Forbes b 1885 Bodum parish, father William mother Martha Chalmers living in Cruden 1891 census
Grandmother - Johanna Melvin b 1885 Catterline, father William Melvin, mother MaryAnne Stephen, my grandmother had two sisters who stayed in Scotland, (my gparents left for Canada after 1920) My father visited them during WW II and I believe one of them had the married name of Taylor was could have been the post master in Catterline?
I had a researcher find my gparents info, but am curious about the others.
