Craig family

Looking for Craig family in Crailing and surrounding district.  Joseph 1766 is as far back as I can get although I don't have any info about him.

Welcome to Rootschat  Smiley

I've had a look and can't find a baptism for Joseph in either Crailing or nearby parishes and no Cr*g baptisms in Crailing for 1760-1770.

I then looked for Craig families having children baptised in adjacent parishes 1760-1770 and found these:

Oxnam:

8 Feb 1770 Margaret - Father - Thomas

Jedburgh:

26 July 1762 Walter - Father Thomas Mother Janet Smeall
10 June 1764 William - Father Thomas Mother Janet Smale

Do you have Joseph's children's names? It might be that they used the Scottish naming convention which might give you some clues to his parents.

Hi
Joseph and Margaret (don't know her surname) had a son Robert 1806 his son Adam 1837 born in Oxnam was my GG Grandfather. Know a bit about his siblings through the Scottish census but can't find any more about Joseph or Robert
