I used to live very near there !

There's Stonham, Stonham Aspel, Earl Stonham and Little Stonham .... but I dont recall a Stonham Parva.

They are about 12 km north of Ipswich ...

(Ooops ... just noticed you live near there too !)

I live in Little Waldingfield - also know by the latin name of Waldingfield Parva.

Soooo, Stonham Parva = Little Stonham

Great Waldingfield just two miles from me is also known as Waldingfield Magna.

Thanks, that's sorted that one.

Lydart I hadn't heard of Stonham Parva either until I started looking up Little Stonham either so maybe stupidity is a Suffolk thing!  Grin

Stonham Parva is a separate place to Little Stonham! They are next to eachother though. Have a look on multipmap.com  Grin

Stonham Parva is unusually referred to by its old Latin wording, rather than being known as Little Stonham.

If anyone is interested the Local History Recorder for Stonham Parva has just resigned after many years and so I have a vacancy for that parish   Sad
