They're hiding there somewhere!

Hi
My gtx3 grandparents lived in Corranewy, Ematris in the 1850s. (William Connolly and Elizabeth nee Jackson).
I know from visiting the Land Valuation Office in Dublin and viewing the book of corrections that William died around 1856 and Elizabeth took over the 'farm' (It was only a small 1 acre plot of land which I have been lucky enough to have visited).
William was born around 1805 and to date I have not found his birth (ditto Elizabeth).
Any ideas where he may have been buried? He was Church of Ireland. I have found two of their children one being my gt gt grandfather but they must have had more but so far haven't found them so not sure who would have reported his death - am assuming Elizabeth. (on the basis that one son went to Oz and the other - my chap - came to Scotland)
I am assuming he wouldn't have a headstone because they weren't that affluent.
Any help most appreciated
Ann

If they belonged to the Church of Ireland and were buried in that graveyard there might be a burial register and they would have been listed even though there might not be a headstone. However, many Church of Ireland registers, sent to Dublin for safekeeping, were destroyed in 1920s (in my area pre-1880 baptism and burial registers have mostly perished). As for the death certificate- any person present at the death could have done the registration. However, if William died 1856 there would have been no death certificate since civil registration of deaths only started in 1864.

If the family were Church of Ireland you need to start looking for the records of those churches in the area first, starting with the one in the parish where they lived. Check LDS catalogue (www.familysearch.org) to see if they have any of the church records before you go to Ireland to needless chasing around there.
