Does anyone have any info on the marriage of Joseph Moore Stevenson please possibly born in Ilkeston in 1898 and his Wife Haidee Stevenson possibly born in 1897. Haidee died on 05 Mar 1967 and is buried at Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Does anyone have a maiden name for Haidee and a date of marriage?.

I am researching the Stevenson family of Joseph & Haidee and the children who are: Doris, Joan, Ruth, Clarence, Joseph & Gwendoline and their connections to the Severs from Ilkeston & Beeston, Bull & Carlin & Woolley from Ilkeston. Thank you

Just going off the census in 1901 there is only 1 Haidee in Ilkeston  Roll Eyes - She was Haidee Beardsley born 1896 - could be your girl, but havent found a marriage yet

If you know any birth dates for the children - you could look up their birth on the GRO which will also give you the mother's maiden name

Post back with details if you dont have access, and I'll be happy to look for you

certainly pointing in the right direction. I have put Haidee Beardsley in Ancestry.co.uk and it has come up with Chaucer St, Ilkeston which is where my Wifes mother was born. If you can find a birth in Dec 1936 of a Gwendoline Ann Stevenson in Ilkeston and the Mothers maiden name might solve the mystery. I would be interested to find the marriage as well.  Unfortunately my Wife's Mother and Father passed away some time ago so we are unable to ask them these questions now.  Thank you so much for your help.

Gwendoline M A Stevenson birth registered 1st Qtr 1937 Shardlow District of Derbyshire - Mother's main name BEARDSLEY

Who was the eldest child and when (Approx) were they born? This should give an indication of when they married as children usually followed with  the first couple of years.

thats interesting, did not know that, wheres shardlow exactly? I think the oldest boy was Clarence Roy Stevenson born Aug 1915 and a oldest girl was Joan Stevenson. We also have a Joseph Brian Moore Stevenson born in 1928 in Ilkeston and died in 2002. thanks.

Haidee married Joseph in the Basford District of Nottingham, Dec Quarter 1920, Volume No 7b page 472 - the marriage cert should give you more info - if you need census look-ups then post another topic on this board.

how did you manage to find all this info so quickly I have going round in circles looking at different lists for months?, I did get some info from the cemetery when we last went.

I have been thinking about that one as I have seen that before, he was known as Roy Stevenson. Whether this is the same person I do not know.

 Clarence R Stevenson b 1915- his mother's maiden name was Holmes

Joseph and haidee were not married until 1920

haidee's maiden name was beardsley.

So Roy samuel m Stevenson b. 1921 mother's maiden name beardsley is much more likely to be a child of Joseph and Haidee-he has the correct mother's maiden name and was born after their marriage
