Hi
I know one or two of you have access to the Derby Mercury records, so I am hoping someone can do a look up for me please.
1817 Derby Assizes
Samuel Kent, Church Broughton, sealing silver
My 4 x gt was Samuel Kent who lived in Church Broughton,so I am hoping it was him.

Hi,
The only entry I can find in the Derby Mercury is:-
Thursday March 25 1819 Issue 4524
Derbyshire Lent Assizes
"Samuel Kent, charged with being an accomplice with Leah Alsebrook in receiving fowls and a sack
which were stolen from Mr. Massey of Hilton".
Hilton is about 3 miles from Church Broughton.

Thanks very much for looking. Perhaps the other case wasn't in the paper. I hope to get to the local studies library soon where I believe the keep the assizes records so I will check both the cases out.

Thanks very much for your reply. I had read on the Derbysgen site about it going on line meanwhile I have been down to my local library who have taken out a trial subscription on the Gale databases.
