Walter Budd. 1973, Linridge-COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 28 August 08 09:23 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to track down the parentage of Walter Budd. He married Julia Ainge at Pershore, Fladbury on 10 Jun 1897. Looking at the census files hasn't been particularly useful, as he was married in 1901, lived with his uncle, Charles Henry Budd in 1891 and with his grandmother, Martha Budd in 1881.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, you're a star! Charlotte was living with Walter's grandparents (her parents) in 1861 (she was 5), so obviously had him out of wedlock.
I'm just going to try and find her death now.
Thanks Smiley

He's definitely from the right place! If it is her, I wonder why Charlotte didn't take Walter with her? He's living in a workhouse with his grandmother in 1881.

Oh, but if you look at the 1891 census, they're living next door but one to Martha. That's conclusive enough for me!
Thank you VERY very much Cheesy

Oooh, and it looks like most of the Budds married Flellos!

If you're searching for Charlotte in 1901, try under surname Hills ...

Aaaah! You'd have thought that the people employed to write down the census information would be better at writing!

You've just saved me months of research, and stopped me from bashing my head off the computer screen.

Thank you so much!
