Searching for MacDonald/McDonald family of Arran. Known names are John (believed to have been "Steam Boat Porter" / "Stevedore") and Elizabeth (m.s. Brown). They are known to have had at least one child; daughter Annie who would have been approximately 14 year of age in 1901. There may have been a second daughter, Margaret.
In 1913, when Annie married, John was deceased and Annie was living in Ardrossan.
Many thanks

Don't have them in 1901 yet, but here they are in 1891 if it helps:
@ 8 Hill Street, Ardrossan, Ayrshire
John McDonald, 41, Foreman Stevedore, b. Kilmory, Buteshire Elizabeth McDonald, 40, Wife, b. Kilmory, Buteshire Ronald, 14, son (all children born Ardrossan) Grocers Apprentice James, 12 Margaret, 8 Hugh, 6 Annie, 4 William, 1
Will try again on 1901 now that I have more children to try with.
Cheers
Ellen.

Many thanks ellenavon Family lore tells that Annie was Arran-born! I did not know of her siblings, only the possibility of a sister Margaret.
Curiously, "Steam Boat Porter" was listed as John's occupation on Annie's D.E. and "Stevedore" on her M.E. "Porter" infers luggage, baggage, etc. while "Stevedore" infers cargo. I wonder if there was a difference back then.
Thanks again.
