Kingerswell,

I was looking into my wife's family tree and looking for a
Gilligan/Cox marriage  in Fermanagh so sent for a couple of OAP returns
from Pensear and one was for a Phillip Cox but it wasn't the
one I was looking for but looks more relevant to your
query:

Phillip Cox, Claimant was son of Owen & Rose Cox and
asked for a search of 1851 census for townland of Tonagh,
Parish of Inishmacsaint, barony of Magheraboy, Fermanagh.

1851 census - found; Tonagh
Own Cox aged 39 married 1833, farmer, wife Rose 39,
son Phillip 1 year 6 months, 7 children not named, born Fermanagh.

Hope this is of use.

Hi, Very many thanks, this is Kingskerswell's wife ( English, I'm told to say!) Yes, I think that Owen is one of Patrick's brothers and I think he has another one in Churchill, Thomas, who was a Blacksmith. It's a matter of proving it.It's going to be a matter of delving into the Marquis of Ely's papers. Their father was a clerk, so it has to be something like that as there really wasn't any where else for a clerk to work in Innishmacsaint!
Once again. many thanks for your response. Maureen
