Hi Sheena
A search of marriages on Scotlands People indicates Patrick and Mary are likely to have married in Falkirk in 1889. This looks like them in 1891:
Patrick Robertson 26, moulder, b. Laurieston, Stirlingshire Mary McCall 24, wife, b. Laurieston, Stirlingshire Catherine Robertson 2, b Laurieston, Stirlingshire
Address:South St, Falkirk Landward

Looking at that 1901 census entry, likely this was Mary McCall's family - although she is down as boarder with the children. There is a birth showing in March 1867 Falkirk for a Mary to parents William and Catherine (Hetherington). The other children for this couple match a number of the McCalls showing on that 1901 entry.
A possible birth entry for Patrick Robertson is on 16 MAR 1865 in Falkirk, parents William and Mary (Curly).

Likely entry for Patrick with family in 1881:
William Robertson 42, general lab., b. Glasgow Ireland (as transcribed ...maybe this is where the ref to Ireland comes in) Mary Robertson 43, b. Laurieston, Ireland ..... You would have to look at the original index for 1881 to confirm accuracy of transcription John Robertson 18 Patrick Robertson 16, Apprentice Moulder, b. Laurieston Thomas Robertson 14 William Robertson 10 James Robertson 7 Andrew Robertson 6 Frances Robertson 4 Joseph Robertson 4 Ann Robertson 2
Address: South Back Row, Falkirk Landward

There is a 1916 reference to Etna Buildings in a photo on SCRAN www.scran.ac.uk/database/record.php?usi=000-000-492-950-C&PHPSESSID=2hjdo4bv13fkp30s2n040doug7
Group of about 160 workers pose outside what is probably the Etna buildings of the Mungal foundry, Bainsford, Falkirk
Given that the McCall men would also appear to have been iron moulders in 1901, the address would make sense. It probably housed workers and their families from the foundry.

You're in luck. William and Mary Robertson do show an Irish birth place in 1861/71 censuses. Quite often you will never find reference in the censuses as to where people from Ireland came from. However, in 1861 William shows Co Leitrim and Mary shows Co. Sligo for birth places.
They were both here in 1860 when they married in Falkirk on 26 May. You will be able to confirm their parents' names from their marriage cert.

I think at least Mary Curly may have come over with her family before 1860. There is this 1851 census entry in Falkirk - everyone showing as born in Ireland:
Thomas Curley 40, labourer Ann Curley 40 Mary Curley 13 Peter Curley 2 Patrick Flyn 25, lodger
Address: James Street, Laurieston Falkirk
