Anyone have info on Gillman (sometimes spelt with only one "L") who were shoemakers in Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary during the 1790's to 1900's

Thanks Aislinn,
They were my relatives. Have you got any of the Gillmans on your tree? I have lots of info but want to get back as far as I can with them.

Rory, I have no connections to the name. I was just wandering through the entries and saw the name. I knew that there was Gillman family in that area, and just thought I would pass it on. Best of luck with your research. It can be so time-consuming and at times frustrating, but worth the effort.
Aislinn.

My grandmother was Alice Gillman of Carrick On Suir. Along with her two sisters; Josie and Eileen they were sent I believe as orphans to be reared in Clonmel somewhere aroun d the turn of the century. I am beginning to delve and hope to have more information soon. Kenmh.
