Anne,
I can`t believe how much info. you have been able to give me. It`s taken me ages to get where I am with my own tree. The awful thing is, my husband hasn`t been very interested in his own family history, and it`s all there on a plate for him!!!! Typical !  It`s my elder ( teenage ) daughter who is very keen to know, so this will be an excellent surprise when she gets back from holiday.
Many thanks,
Mel

Hi everyone,

I have just found this wonderful site and would like to post my surname interests. They include PRICE, FRADLEY, HAMER, WALTERS , COPE and MEREDITH, and I am very happy to share information.

Unfortunately I have hit a brick wall with my Merediths. I know Richard Meredith , born c1816 married Elizabeth Cope in Dudley in 1839 and have found their children using the Wolverhampton Archives site. However I have not been able to link him with any other Meredith family and would appreciate any ideas.  I know that he died in 1866 and he only appears in1861 census as being from Hopton Bank, Salop.
Children John, Sarah Jane, Francis, Charlotte and Harriet Meredith all married at Acton, near  Nantwich between 1872 and 1883.

Does anyone recognise this family?

Many thanks, Jan-P

Hi Kerry, I think your website is great, I found quite a lot of boatmen on three pages of 1841 census in Harbourne, Staffs whilst looking for my Godfrey/Bishops boatmen family. HO 107/980/7 p.30, 31 & 32.
John Bishop (boatman) married Sarah Ann Godfrey in 1843 her parents were William Godfrey (boatman) and Sarah Holbrook. Any info on these families would be useful. I a beginner at this site and not sure how to post this message, I clicked on quote but I don't think thats right, how do I post a message properly?

Kerry

I am researching the descendants of Betsy HARRISON and Thomas WILLINGTON who married in the Wolverhampton area (probably Tettenhall) in 1854. I have just ordered their marriage cert so, hopefully, will know more soon. Do you have any info on this canal family?
