Leeds Cholera Outbreak 1832
« on: Monday 08 September 08 20:48 BST (UK) »

Awful question to ask but
i am looking for information regarding above !
What happened to the numerous bodies ? were they buried in the normal way (meaning church service followed by burial  and a parish record) or where there mass unmarked graves ?

Seem to remember in my history lessons lime pits being mentioned or am i thinking of the plague.
I have read that Leeds had more than its fair share of cholera outbreaks.

Hi

There is a bit about the Cholera outbreak on the Gale site:
http://access.gale.com/newstrial/  Password: british

One of them was in The Leeds Mercury (Leeds, England), Saturday, January 12, 1833; Issue 3342
