It would appear that Janet's maiden name was Kelly. the IGI (www.familysearch.org) has extracted entries for the birth of son Matthew, 16th June 1815 Kirkcowan, and Patrick* 15th December 1813, Kirkcowan. That might help you find a marriage.

*Patrick and Peter were frequently interchangable names.

Hi Adrian, Matthew and Jean (Kelly) Broadfoot had a daughter christened 30 Sept 1819 Old Luce. On the 1841 census she is a female servant aged 20 at Cothouse, Old Luce, also there is John Cloy apprentice joiner aged 15. They married at Old Luce 4 August 1842 and had the following children Robert C: 21 Nov 1842 Old Luce John C: 22 Apr 1844 Old Luce Jane C: 4 Jan 1846 Old Luce Elizabeth C: 20 Jun 1847 Old Luce I cannot find either on the 1851 census Hope this helps Regards Beannie

and another entry for a ELISABETH DODDS 1 BORN 1850 which possibly i think belongs to margaret as there wouldn't be two elisabeth's in the same family although by age they could. however it doesnt account for margaret having the last name MURCHIE being matthews granddaughter and with child called DODDS.-DID AGNES MARRY A MURCHIE and then married a DODDS to get elisabeth DODDS .
