Charles Saxty born c.1828 in Batheaston appears to have seperated from his wife, Elizabeth Foreman , born c.1833 in Tiverton, sometime after the 1871 census when they were living in Oxford Street Gloucester.
1881 - RG11/2611 Folio 68 Page 3, Colford Cottage, Lyonsall, Herts shows: Charles Saxty, 53 (1828) born Batheaston, Railway Station Master, Miranda Saxty, daughter, 28 (1853) born Gloucester
1891 - RG12/2077 Folio 117 Page 2, Oaklands? Lyonsall, Herts shows: Charles Saxty, 63(1828) born Batheaston, Railway Station Inspector, Miranda Wheeler Saxty, unmarried, 35 (1856) born Gloucester
Charles' death certificate of 1898 shows the informant as "Miranda Saxty, daughter, present at death"
Miranda (Saxty/Wheeler) has not been found in 1901
Miranda is not shown as Charles' daughter before the 1881 census and I suspect the declared relationship is false.
Miranda was born mid 1850s - can anyone find her in the census of 1861 and 1871? Grateful for help, please.

She could well be a step-daughter from a re-marriage...
Where is the 1871 wife in 1881 and 1891?
Have you checked the marriage & death indexes?

Hi Pauline & Sandy
Thanks for your replies. Census records suggest Charles Saxty and wife Elizabeth were living apart but Charles' relationship to Miranda is unclear.
