Hi Can't seem to find Catherine Morris in 1871, I found one born Bala, Mer but she is married and still living in wales, but she is too young (28) The only other female that comes near at the right age, in the right place is Harriet Morris 40 in Eardisland and born Llanviangel Rhyditham, Radnorshire, Wales. Husband is Francis. can't find another of the right age Sorry Anne

Many thanks for your reply.
Catherine Morris may still have been CATHERINE JONES in 1871, as she was the seond wife of John Morris and they got married in early 1870s (obviously after 1871).
Is there any indication of JAMES MORRIS (b.1847) or JANE MAPP (nee Morris, b.1850)?
Thanks again for your help.
Roger.

Hi Roger Can't find a JAMES. You are looking for a JANE MAPP nee Morris as well, could she in 1871 have still been unmarried? If she was I think I may have found her: 1871 Census Source information: RG10/272 Registration district: Islington Sub-registration district:Islington West ED, institution, or vessel: 63 Folio: 65 Page: 29 Household schedule number: 132 12 Beacon Hill, Islington St Lukes BLACKMORE Samuel H Head 40 Barrister at Law in practice b Kington, Herefordshire BLACKMORE Alice Gregson Wife 31 b Chatham Kent BLACKMORE Samuel P Son 11mths b Holloway London ERANS Anne Servant 21 Dom Serv b Kington, Herefordshire *MORRIS JANE Servant 21 Dom Serv b Eardisland, Herefordshire
I'll keep looking for James, but I'm running out of options to search by Anne

Thanks again,
You're correct. Ann Maria is still at home in 1871. I agree that Jane Morris is most likely still unmarried.
James shows up in Cold Nose Cottage, Dewsall, Hereford in 1881. He's married to Anne by that stage.
The rest fits in quite well. Catherine Morris may be Catherine James/Jones in 1871.
Thanks again for your help.
