Charles BARTHOLOMEW - Bidford

Looking for Charles BARTHOLOMEW who was married to a Pricilla who i believe to be the parents of Robert BARTHOLOMEW bn c1828 Bidford. Robert eventually ended up in Poplar London.  My beleive is founded on two things. Firstly one of his daughters was named Pricilla and secondly his first marriage (1855)recorded his fathers names as Laurence. His second marriage(1883) recorded him as Charles.
The 1841/51/61 census have no Robert with them,but family in Bidford which records Laurence to be born in plymouth (1861)
Any suggestions about making a connection greatly appreciated

1841 census HO107 242/12 folio 11
Silver Street Bideford Devon
Laurence Bartholomew 60 Lab
Priscilla Bartholomew 50
Isaac Bartholomew 11 
Maria Bartholomew 9 

all born Devon. Adult ages on the 1841 census, those over 15, usually rounded down to the nearest 5.

The Devon Family History Society has a baptism index for the period you are interested in, which covers the Bideford Parish registers. If you request a search for Robert Bartholomew's baptism you will be able to confirm who his parents were.

found a marriage of

william bartholomew and priscilla short- 2nd september 1810 in bideford.

also

john bartholomew and elizabeth gilbert-22nd september 1809 in bideford

The problem i got is The first marriage of Robert Bartholomew to Mary Ann Biggs in 1855 Stepney Middlesex says his father is Laurence Bartholomew,Gardener. His next marriage in 1883 Stepney Middlesex to Naomi Jane Sutton nee chedd says his father is Charles Bartholomew Gardener.
Census records found so far indicate a birthplace of Bidford Devon c1828.
