My father, Thomas Herbert Plater, was born at 1 1/2(yes, that is correct), Victoria Street, Blaby, on March 18th, 1918.
His father was Thomas Herbert as well, his mother was Annie Abigail, nee Towers, and his brother was Raymond.
If anybody has any further information, I would be very pleased to receive this.

Do you already have census info on your grandparents etc

They were married in the June qtr 1914 Leicester Volume: 7a

including a list of Blaby cemetery burials 1863 - 1972 included:

3055  Annie Abigal plater 20/7/1961 age 68   housewife Blaby
3146  Thomas plater        28/11/1963 age 77  maidenhead BRK

Annie therefore born 1893
Thomas                      1886

doc is not clear but think this means he died in Maidenhead berks rather than born there.
hope so as there is on A**:

Thomas Plater b. Mar q 1886  leicester 7a /208

this is him on 1891 census in Humberstone:

Alfred Plater  45  shoe riveter  Aldbury berks  (would fit)
Hannah plater 42                            leics
Alfred              16
Annie               11
Harriet               9
Ada                    8
Thomas             5
George              3
Elizabeth           1

may have been living with / visiting relatives when died.?
