I really enjoyed it. One of the best yet I think. The Lithuanian researcher Ruth was great. What a programme!
One train, a taxi, and several car journeys! Didn't notice a plane, but I had to nip to the kitchen for a liquid refill.

Brilliant - I loved when he said this is where his journey ended but where theirs began.Yes I'm sure he was sitting chatting on a plan at one point.Regards Nipy

Nice to have half a programme concentrated on this COUNTRY for a change Interesting story and it was refreshing to have someone who not only seemed genuinely enthusiastic and interested about his family history but he didn't burst into tears every 5 minutes!!!!
Whilst I fully understand the tears, as a bit of a sop myself, it does get a bit wearing when they cry to camera every 5 blooming minutes.
I enjoyed this episode

Wow Simon, it's little wonder that you enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this episode...one of the best I've seen too. Both sides of the family had interesting stories...I loved that he met the descendant of John Craigie and also was really pleased that they found the original surname of the Suchets...Ruth was terrific What made it for me was the genuine interest David showed in his search and the joy on his face when another mystery was solved.

Three Brothers Knight out on the road...almost!

Yes - another good episode
More Jewish/refugee/immigrant history but this time with a different slant.
I thought the photographer was interesting....and helped to put the dates of old family photo in some kind of context...(it's one thing reading about the history of photography but this was a simple illustration)
And I didn't know much about the Russian history so that was interesting.
And at first I thought the researcher was not going to be much use - but she really did well by the end in finding Joseph and Beila.

I enjoyed this too. Thought it very amusing when he mentioned putting on the white gloves, just as he did in 'Poirot'! Kooky
