I am stuck at William BAXENDALE, born 1771, married in Chorley (of this Parish), Jane BLACBURN of Standish, b. circa 1775. Marriage took place on 28th March 1796.
Can anyone find the parents of bride or groom?
BTW a Peter BAXENDALE, b.1778, Married a Mary BLACKBURN, b.1782, and had issue Elizabeth, b.25 Sept 1803 in Chorley. These might be related!
Thank you
Eileen (nee BAXENDALE)

As Jane was b Standish, this may be a possibility. Of this Parish does not always mean he was actually born there - just that he satisfied the residential requirements for marriage there
Baptisms: 5 Aug 1770 St Wilfrids, Standish William Baxondale - Son of Thos Baxondale & Ann

Thank you, Carole,
It's a very good point & may well be correct. Now I have to find a way to prove it. Any suggestions?
Witnesses on William's marriage certificate were Jane & Mary Baxendale + Michael Leigh.
Thanks again for this information,
Eileen
