edgar family
« on: Saturday 20 September 08 18:58 UTC (UK) »

Hi can some kind person look up the 1891 census[or all census`s]  for any edgar family with a daughter elizabeth mary edgar. The 1901 census has her as below married to William. I believe she had a younger sister AGNES
and possibly there were up to 16 other siblings.

rg13/4744 Folio 145 Page 25
13 Hood Street, Hebburn (Jarrow)

William H W Edgar, 27, labourer, shipyard, b. Ireland
Elizabeth M, wife,  26, b. Hebburn

If this is the family then they married, co down, ireland 1897

many thanks

Hi

Edgar was her married name - not her maiden name

Hi,

I was just going to ask if Edgar was her maiden name as well as her married name? It has been known!  Otherwise it's a bit of a needle/haystack, so many  Elizabeth Marys about.  If you know date of marriage, do you know her maiden name?

Kind regards,
Barbara

Hi carolew, thankyou, you were the one that got the info for me on the 1901 census. I must have been asleep that night because i just noticed Elizabeth was born HEBBURN, Elizabeth was an EDGAR as well as i know from other info Elizabeth and William were second cousins.

The info quoted above is from the 1901 census - not the 1891.  There is no Edgar to Edgar marriage on freebmd but you say they married in Ireland in 1897.

The family above are on the 1881 census which should help your query.  Elizabeth M is shown
