William Morrison from Greyabbey Co Down

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything further of William Morrison, born 12-11-1787, Greyabbey  Co Down  Ireland. He emigrated to America in the Spring/Summer of 1845 with his children Jane, Hugh, Alexander and Robert.

William was interred 4-9-1858 in Elizabethtown   New York State  USA  according to the inscription on his wife's (Mary McKeag) headstone in Greyabbey. We have no death cert for him.

I was hoping that someone might be able to find him on a passenger list or a census. William was a blacksmith and family story is that he took his anvil with him to America and worked on the railroad. Hugh and Alexander later came to Australia. Don't know what became of Jane and Robert.

Any info would be very much appreciated

Thankyou for the link. Looks to be a great resource. Just had a quick peek and can see I need to spend quite some time sorting out those Morrisons.
