Handloom Weavers of Perth website

Hi all,

I've placed some of my research into the handloom weavers of Perth onto a new website at www.PerthWeavers.bravehost.com along with many records from the 16th to 19th Centuries. The records include the 1841 census for Perth, weavers in the 1843-44 Perth street directory, weavers paying for the trade's St. John's kirk seat in 1749-51, weavers bearing arms in 1715, weavers listed in the King James VI Hosptal rental books for the 16th and 17th Cs, weavers named in the 18th and 19th C King James VI Hospital chartularies, and some miscellaneous records such as Perth weavers named in wills and testaments, and weavers listed in burgess rolls etc.

Part of the work comes from a postgraduate certificate dissertation carried out last year at the University of Strathclyde in Genealogical Studies, with many extra record sets transcribed since then.

If you have some Perth based weavers (i.e. in the town, not the county), hopefully it might help!
