I am looking for confirmation on an IGI marriage entry submitted by an LDS member. The entry lists a marriage on 16 Jun 1818 at East Walton, Pembrokeshire between James Nicholas and Anne John.

I am tracing my 3x great grandfather, one Edward Nicholas born in Bletherston in 1826 and found a baptism listing on the IGI - 5 Mar 1826, at Bletherston, parents James Nicholas and Anne. Looking at the other entries for Bletherston, I see they had six other children between 1822 and 1837. East Walton which I assume is actually Walton East is just up the road from Bletherston so the IGI marriage fits it quite nicely. But I would like to confirm it with an actual parish register entry.

I can confirm the marriage between James Nicholas & Anne John.
16th June 1818 at Walton East.

I have marriages on Micro Fiche.

Thank you Omega! The confirmation makes me feel a bit better about linking these pieces of the puzzle together.

Can I ask if the marriage entry contains any additional details like address, parent's names or even the church? I think I may have found James and Anne in the census records and her place of birth is listed as Dinas. But again, I need something to tie it all together. Sometimes it all feels like a house of cards!!

I think there was only one Church at Walton East.Sorry thats all the info on Fiche.
Fathers names were`nt added until 1837.

It may be worth having a search done at PRO.
I use them a lot. I have several marriages Pre 1837,usually Witnesses were family.
Sorry i cant be of more help.

PS,Look on genuki walton east.The Church Records go back to 1721 & are on Fiche at PRO

Thanks for the info, I think I'll take your advice and see if they can help me track a few more generations back.

When i go to Pembrokeshire (often as i can) its amazing what info you find on Headstones.Spend half the Holiday going round them.
